Gigi has always held it in all night. She sleeps 10hrs and doesn't budge.
Even if I go out for 3-4 hours she still waits for me to put her on the
papers. I think she does it on purpose because she know that I am not here
to see what a good girl she is so she can get her treat. She is funny,
sometimes during the day when she sees that I am busy doing something and
ignoring her she will walk into the bathroom and go on the pan of papers.
Most of the times, she bugs me to bring her in there. Either way she is
extremely persistent that she has to have her treat or she won't leave me
alone begging for it. Spoiled rotten!

Unless you are going to be home 99% of the time with a puppy, you need to
have puppy pads so that he/she can go potty when you are not at home. Their
little bladders can't hold it for a long time.
In my case, it isn't rain or snow, but the times when I am sick or in too
much pain to be getting up all the time to let them go potty. They know to
stay in the bedroom with me and the puppy pads are in the master bathroom.
They use them during the night too. Unless we are still up and right by the
back door, they will not want to go out potty when it is dark outside. When
I go out, Dolly has a puppy pad in her area and hasn't used it for over
three years - but it is there just in case she needs to go. I would put one
down for Desi when I was going to be gone for a while, and he would use it.
But, one day I forgot to put it down for him and came back and everythng was
good...haven't put another one down for him in months now...I think if it
was there, he felt like he had to mark it - but without it he held his
bladder and his poop rather than go on the floor or on a pile of his toys.
