Robin, does this mean that if a pure bred chi was bred to a pure bred male chi, and then at a later date also mated with a purebred mini-pin during the same cycle, that she could produce pure chi pups as well as pure mini-pin pups, OR would they all look like a mix of chi and a mix of mini pins? How does that work? Also does it mean that all the pups are carrying all the genes from both fathers or that just the ones that look like chis are only carrying the chis genes? We had a MinPin and Chi BYB in Bradenton I knew for 30 yrs. I rescued several of her AKC registered dogs. Naturally she occasionally had ChiPins too.

I never really did any more research on it before on the internet, other then what I had read in old books, but with DNA testing and artificial insemination through the years, I guess they have been able to prove other wise. This is so interesting. Makes me wonder about all those tiny stray pregnant chis and their pups. Also, it can answer why so many chis from BYBs and PMs look so different and many look like they are a mix, and yet people swear that they where shown a male chi father and a female chi mother by the breeder, when it is possible she could have also mated with another male during the same cycle. Fascinating! Stray dogs often produce litters in which every puppy has a different father Though rare in humans, cases have been documented. In one study on humans, the frequency was 2.4% among dizygotic twins whose parents had been involved in paternity suits.[1] Robin, Dobe Axel CGC, TT, German Pin Ranger CGC, TT, Chihuahuas Alice CGC, foster Blue and Monte CGC and MinPins HoneyB, Brutus www.minpinrescue.org -----Original Message----- From: Robin Gordils <ginbarminp...@aol.com> To: Chihuahuas <Chihuahuas@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Wed, Aug 7, 2013 7:00 pm Subject: Re: [Chihuahuas] Superfecundation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Yes, under heteropaternal...common in dogs and cats Robin, Dobe Axel CGC, TT, German Pin Ranger CGC, TT, Chihuahuas Alice CGC , Monte CGC, foster Blue and MinPins HoneyB and Brutus Www.minpinrescue.org Www.chi-rescue.com Http://chihuahua.rescueme.org/Florida Peggy & The Girls <phr...@optimum.net> wrote: It doesn't say that is for animals, or dogs. -------Original Message------- From: Robin Gordils Date: 8/7/2013 6:53:25 PM To: Chihuahua Groups Subject: [Chihuahuas] Superfecundation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superfecundation Robin, Dobe Axel CGC, TT, German Pin Ranger CGC, TT, Chihuahuas Alice CGC , Monte CGC, foster Blue and MinPins HoneyB and Brutus Www.minpinrescue.org Www.chi-rescue.com Http://chihuahua.rescueme.org/Florida
