Hi Joe
I sell pre-programmed Baofengs (no judgement) and the template that I use means that many of the fields are not needed. I use the RSGB repeater database for my source and that is in a specific layout. In order to have them both open side by side on my MacBook I find it really helpful to have the columns set up so that only the ones I need are to the left. 
It just makes transposition so much quicker.
