Other browsers tested:
Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
      Safari 3: N/A

          IE 7: N/A
Chrome 0.2.149.29: Informs me that I'm running the latest version.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Go to Tools > About Chromium

What is the expected result?
Chromium should check the current version and compare it with the latest
version. It should then inform me if I have the latest version.

What happens instead?
Chromium says "Checking for updates...", and stays stuck in this mode - it
just perennially keeps doing this...

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.
This is a nightly build that I downloaded from
http://build.chromium.org/buildbot/snapshots/chromium-rel-xp/. I'm running
Vista, so I'm not sure if this was the correct version to download.
