Issue 1565: Don't make GoogleUpdate always-resident http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1565
Comment #5 by gtucker: GoogleUpdate.exe actually exists in the scheduler. And services. And runs, at startup, from the Windows registry. It's a real pain to remove completely. Would be nice to have a way to have it only run/check at chrome startup (or startup of the other Google apps installed). At the _very_ least it should have an option to allow me to defer updates 'til I think they're ready. Perhaps following Google's own, published, software principles would help: http://www.google.com/corporate/software_principles.html -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
