Comment #1 by somethingsome2000: I reinstalled, and it still behaves the same. but i ran Chrome as an Administrator and when i click 'about google chrome' it immediately says "update server unavailable", but after closing Chrome after opening the "about" box, the chrome process has ended completely! and if i wanted to open up a new chrome window later, it works. but it's annoying to have to open chrome as an administrator all the time...
