There are possibly two bugs that could have caused this:
1. Bug 1946. If you had a . some where in your profile directory (eg
c:\Document and
Settings\fred.flinstone\Chrome\), then we should attempt to save bookmarks
to the
wrong file.
2. Bug 2362. This resulted in locking the file thread. Your bookmarks are
saved on
the file thread, so that if the file thread is locked bookmarks don't get
saved. I
suspect this is what you were running into.
I'm closing this out.
