I've reloaded http://www.shacknews.com/latestchatty.x and nav'd back and forth to it many times. When scrolling rapidly on an Intel Core2 2.4GHz machine, I'm seeing about 60% cpu average from Windows Task Manager. This is the same with a chromium.org release build in --single-process mode, and also the released Chrome 0.3.154.3. Note that that shacknews url is a redirect and the target changes. I've nav'd around to different shacknews pages with similar results so maybe there is a specific page that behaves differently that I haven't found yet. Eyballing the scroll lag, I'd say it tops out at maybe 300ms. Peter says "_horribly_ laggy" so I'm guessing he's seeing worse results than me.
