In the long run, we may consider  changing the UI for language selection  
menu with
two lists (one for languages and the other for regions or scripts).

As a short-term solution, I can simply add widely used regional variants  
like Swiss
German, Austrailian English, Canadian French. Note that this does not  
require a new
string because the language names come from CLDR (via ICU).

A similar request was made by W3C I18N WG. I'll try to do this before 1.0  
code freeze
(31st). Adding icudata label because the ICU data file need to be changed,  
too.
