Comment #8 by imre.polik: Restarting Chrome does not help, and firefox won't be able to resolve any addresses. Neither does a direct nslookup work, nor does my wife's laptop. I haven't tried to flush the OS cache yet, I will if this happens again. Just let me know what to look for.
