Issue 3543: Checkbox are not displayed http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=3543
Comment #8 by AndreiJuan: Me again, this time with a hint regarding a possible link between the disappearing checkboxes and the "Enable phishing and malware protection" feature. I opened Chrome and went to Gmail's inbox. The checkboxes next to each email were *not* visible. After a short while, I heard the HDD being accessed intensively. I opened ProcessExplorer and it was, as I was expecting, Chrome. (Some websites say Chrome sometimes accesses the HDD intensively if the phishing / malware protection is left enabled.) Out of pure curiosity, I Alt+Tabbed back to Chrome and hit F5 to refresh the Gmail inbox page. The page did refresh, with the checkboxes visible(!) this time. After yet another refresh, the checkboxes were still being displayed. I waited until the disk activity stopped, then hit F5 again. The page refreshed and the checkboxes disappeared(!) again. Another refresh -- still no checkboxes. I opened Chrome Options and disabled "Enable phishing and malware protection", then closed the dialog. Still no checkboxes. However, when I clicked on the white space under the emails list (somewhere at the left of the green "You are currently using X of your X MB"), without any page refresh the checkboxes in the list of emails instantly became visible, and then stayed visible even after a page refresh. I went back to Options and enabled back the phishing/malware protection, closed the dialog and refreshed. The checkboxes were still there and have stayed visible ever since. This might indicate a relationship between the phishing / malware protection option and the occasional invisibility of checkboxes (though it can unfortunately be a memory corruption symptom as well). -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
