Issue 1028: Continue downloads in background when Chrome is closed http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1028
Comment #13 by pileot: Lealcy quite often downloads open or are started from a new window. You click the link, start the download file downloading... then close the window and continue browzing Or if your like me you use chrome because it can deal with hundreds of tabs (yes hundreds) without crashing windows, and i open and clsoe a LOT of windows in a short amount of time. Having downloads tied to that tab would kill people who browze like this. Maybe make them different processes, but it doesnt matter to me, what i care about is knowing what is downloading, what is finished, and how long its going to take, and i dont want this information to hog my screen. I want it to stay there if i change tabs, close tabs, make new tabs, etc. -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
