There is a good tutorial on how to have both a standards compliant CSS  
document AND
support IE specific CSS to work around bugs.  If you can change your CSS  
using these
suggestions you will have a site that should work well for current and  
future
browsers.

I can't see us changing Chrome to match a bug in an older version of IE --  
especially
when you will want to be more standards compliant to match new browsers.   
It seems to
me that the right fix would be for you to change the site.
