New issue 4699 by unknown.unit: Ctrl-F doesn't focus in find box for second search http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=4699 Chrome Version : 0.3.155.0 (Developer Build 5886) URLs (if applicable) : Other browsers tested: Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue: Safari 3: Firefox 3: OK IE 7: OK What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. open any web page 2. open a page search box with Ctrl-F 3. type in a search 4. Click in any blank or text only space in the page (anything except a link or a button,) or scroll up or down, anything which stays on the same page but takes focus away from the find box. 5. try to search for something else by pressing Ctrl-F. What is the expected result? Pressing Ctrl-F after taking focus back to the page and away from the find box should return focus to the find box. This is what happens in FF and IE. What happens instead? nothing. focus remains on the page and I must click in the already open find box in order to run a second search on the same page. Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible. Although this may seem a minor annoyance, I am running up against it frequently when reading long documents online in which I am searching for specific sections by keywords, reading a section (and usually therefore scroling or opening interesting links in new tabs, taking focus away from the find box) and then wanting to search for my next keyword. -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
