Comment #4 on issue 4952 by jjnhendriks: cannot open FTP site in Windows
Explorer
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=4952

Indeed, I think I understand what cmarshd meant.

Example: paste the URL : ftp://ftp.esker.com/uploads into IE7.
It returns the following message in a web-page :

FTP directory /uploads at ftp.esker.com
To view this FTP site in Windows Explorer, click Page, and then click Open
FTP Site
in Windows Explorer.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Up to higher level directory

Then in the toolbar of IE 7 (right side) there is a button "page" which
shows a drop
menu with the option "Open FTP site in Windows Explorer".
When clicking this the FTP site & folder opens in the Windows File explorer
ftp
client.

When using the URL ftp://ftp.esker.com/uploads in Chrome (0.4.154.29 on XP
SP3),
chrome returns a web page with the following message :

This webpage is not available.

The webpage at ftp://ftp.esker.com/uploads might be temporarily down or it
may have
moved permanently to a new web address.

   More information on this error
Below is the original error message

Error 2 (net::ERR_FAILED): Unknown error.

Further more there is no button in Chrome that allows you to open the same
URL with
Windows File explorer to be able to upload a file to the FTP site.
