New issue 5065 by joelpt: REGRESSION: Maximized window position/frame
painting problems
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=5065

Chrome Version : 0.5.155.0
Other browsers tested: Google Chrome (0.4.154.29) OK
Tested On : Windows XP SP3, 32 bit

The current build of Chromium exhibits some maximized window-positioning
and frame-painting
issues which were not present in the initial Google Chrome release build.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Show or hide the Windows taskbar (see below)
2. Maximize the Chromium browser window
3. Observe positioning/painting problems (see below)

What is the expected result?

Maximized browser window is positioned properly and frame edge is properly
painted (here
"proper" means "identically to Google Chrome 0.4.154.29").

What happens instead?

There are two cases: with Windows taskbar visible, and with Windows taskbar
hidden.

With the taskbar visible, when the browser window is maximized, the top
several pixels of the
browser window is off the top of the screen.

With the taskbar hidden, when the browser window is maximized, (1) there is
a small gap at the
bottom of the screen where windows below show through; and (2) the left and
right edges of the
browser frame are not painted properly.

These problems appear in both single and dual monitor modes.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

Please see attached screenshots to see the differences between Google
Chrome and Chromium:

Filenames begin with "maxed-with-hidden-taskbar" or "maxed-with-taskbar" to
demonstrate the two
cases described above.

Filenames ending with "--chrome-OK" were taken with Google Chrome
0.4.154.29 and demonstrate
the proper maximized-window appearance.

Filenames ending with "--chromium-PROBLEM" were taken with Chromium
0.5.155.0 and demonstrate
the problematic position/painting problems described above.

Comparing each pair of screenshots should adequately demonstrate the
problem being exhibited
only in the newer Chromium build.

The following issue describes a subset of the problems described here:
