Comment #16 on issue 575 by brainn: Smooth scrolling http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=575
I believe almost every reply to this issue is completely misunderstanding the original meaning of this issue. This is not an issue about "laggy" or "jumpy" scrolling, or scrolling using up CPU. This is not an issue about middle clicking and being able to scroll in any direction or not scrolling with trackpads. Try playing with the option titled "Use smooth scrolling" in Firefox. Without "smooth scrolling": When you scroll one step up or down, the frame redraws once, and window contents jump up/down about 100 pixels. With "smooth scrolling": Over ~200 ms, the frame redraws several times, making the frame contents move gradually and smoothly to the desired position. This helps the eye follow text movement. This is a feature request to add the option of "smooth scrolling" -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
