I don't think this is valid. This is probably because you are running in
single-
process mode. If you can reproduce without --single-process mode let us
know.
We don't make any guarantees that singe-process mode works, it is simply
there to
speed up testing. Gears/Application shortcuts is one thing that, in the
past at
least, didn't work.
