Yes, I can reproduce the issue. But I don't think this is a Chrome specific  
bug. Even
I could see similar behavior even with Safari3.x and FF3.x also.

-Set Safari 3.x as default browser.
-Set FF3.x as default browser.
-Now check for the default browser's settings in Safari.
It should be FF but it still shows up Safari as the default browser.

Looks like Safari's default browser settings are buggy.
