I think I figured it out. I have McAfee VirusScan Enterprise version 8.0i with Anti- Spyware Module installed on my box. I checked the online statistics of the Virus scan and I think it was just too much busy scanning the Google chrome cache folder. One disabling/re-enabling the engine I was able to navigate to the website without issue.
