Current status: eroman determined that the line number of the CHECK that failed cannot be trusted, and the full memory dumps from 2.0.158.0-qemu don't have the value of the local variable wait_rv because it was stored in the eax register. So I checked in r8701 to pass wait_rv and wait_error as function arguments to another function.
