Comment #4 on issue 1594 by garen.parham: No restart button available after
update
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1594
Also unnecessary is that there are two dialogs. The first one pops up on
top of the
About dialog and says: "Please close all Chrome windows and restart Chrome
for this
change to take effect."
Once you press "OK" to close that modal dialog, the about box below says:
"Google Chrome has been updated". Yeah, I know! Where is my "Restart
Google Chrome"
button?
In the Google Chrome options, I have the option "Restore the pages that
were open
last." enabled. If I followed the directions of the first dialog (as a
naive user
would!) I'd lose all my tab organization/history, only for this update.
As a savvy user, I could open up something like the Windows Task Manager
and kill all
the chrome.exe processes. Users shouldn't have to do that though! They
also
shouldn't have to restart their PC or re-login just to get this update
applied.
As per the screenshot, I'm presently using Google Chrome. I recently
encountered a
page that fails only for Google Chrome, and I just wanted to apply this
update and
restart easily--just like I can in FireFox!
