Comment #34 on issue 3126 by m...@chromium.org: Open link in live messenger will launch chrome.exe but chrome window cannot show http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=3126 We're also seeing a lot of reports of this in the Help Center. Here are the details passed along from testing: -------------------------------------------------------------- VERSION: This issue doesn't get replicated with version 8.1 Build 8.1.0178.00. Hence Most of us could not replicate the issue. The issue happens with latest msn messenger version 2009 (build 14.0.8064.206). testcase 1: ------------------- XP SP2 step(s): 1. Open Chrome 2. Chrome option "Basics > On startup > Open the homepage" 3. Close chrome and make sure no chrome processes are running 4. have someone send you an email link to open issue: There are two chrome processes spawned seen in windows task manager but no actual window shows up. testcase 2 -------------------- XP SP2 step(s): 1. Open Chrome 2. Chrome option "Basics > On startup > Open the following pages (and add a URL if none is specified)" 3. Close chrome and make sure no chrome processes are running 4. have someone send you an email link to open issue: There are two chrome processes spawned seen in windows task manager but no actual window shows up. testcase 3 ------------------- Vista Business SP1 step(s): 1. Open Chrome 2. Chrome option "Basics > On startup > Open the following pages (and add a URL if none is specified)" 3. Close chrome and make sure no chrome processes are running 4. have someone send you an email link to open issue: There is one chrome process spawned seen in windows task manager but no actual window shows up. testcase 4 ------------------- Vista Business SP1 step(s): 1. Open Chrome 2. Chrome option "Basics > On startup > Restore the following pages that were open last" 3. Open at least one tab to be restored by Chrome later on 4. Close chrome and make sure no chrome processes are running 5. have someone send you an email link to open issues: 1. The link sent in step 5 doesn't open, instead an about:blank opens up. 2. The other tab that is supposed to be restored on startup is showing a crash (sad face) 3. Browser is unusable. Any attempt to open new tabs results in a renderer crash. ** This case is working ok in XP ** -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
