hm, this is bad. msttcorefonts is undesirable in Ubuntu (and Debian). We only provide ttf-mscorefonts-installer for users who need those fonts (for example in openoffice), or for wine, or some vendor apps (like flashplugin or googleearth). Everything else could suggest ttf-mscorefonts-installer but should not require it.
