Comment #1 on issue 10661 by krtulmay: Too much space used. http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=10661
Most of the usage of that storage will be inside the "User Data" directory (or inside multiple "User Data-PROFILENAME" directories if you have multiple profiles). These directories will have high and increasing storage usage because they store working/backup data of your cache, plugin data, bookmarks, cookies, history, thumbnails, etc. This is just the same as the "Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files" directory used by IE. It also has high and increasing storage for the cache and temp files for IE. If you really need to reclaim this space, you can clean this up from Chrome through Wrench menu > Clear Browsing Data. Otherwise, I suppose it may be possible to just manually delete the history/backup history and thumbnails if you don't want them? Anyone please correct me if this will cause problems. In terms of making backups, you may wish to select only certain files from that directory to backup. Perhaps Plugin Data (especially if you use any Gears offline storage apps), Bookmarks, and Cookies? -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
