Comment #1 on issue 14825 by prog...@chromium.org: Text field shortcuts
don't behave natively on WinXP
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=14825

Ctrl+Left/Right issue is Issue 12081

Up/Down doesn't move the caret to the beginning/end of the line in IE but
it does in
FF

As for Ctrl+Delete and Ctrl+Backspace:
Chrome doesn't stop at punctuations as opposed to IE/FF

After the caret stops at a dot, if you press it another time IE will only
delete the
dot while FF deletes the dot with the next word

In the address bar things are different:

FF behaves the same as it does in webpages
with a few adjustments like recognizing "http://"; as one word

IE behaves more like FF but still not the same
Chrome's omnibox does stop at punctuations but still not the same as IE/FF

this is very confusing as every browser implemented it differently... i
believe we
should do something about Ctrl+Delete and Ctrl+Backspace in webpages

it should probably match one of the other browsers
FF's behavior makes more sense to me
while IE's behavior is expected by most users
