Comment #17 on issue 9643 by [email protected]: Issues loading IMEs on 64-bit http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=9643
I would like to write my steps to use SCIM IMEs on Chrome (on 64-bit Ubuntu) as a memo. (Unfortunately, this requires a root privilege.) Please feel free to give me your comments. 0. Retrieve the "getlibs" command from <http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php? t=474790> and install it. 1. Install packages "scim-gtk2-immodule", "scim-bridge-client-gtk", and "libscim8c2a" with the "getlibs" command. $ getlibs -p scim-gtk2-immodule scim-bridge-client-gtk libscim8c2a 2. Copy the attached file to /etc/gtk-2.0/gtk.immodules.32 3. Restart Ubuntu. 4. Launch Chrome. 5. Press control+space in its address bar. 6. Confirm a SCIM language bar is displayed at the bottom-right corner of the desktop.
