My previous comment is irrelevant.
The computed pixel size for those buttons is 11px, which is kinda
border-line for Chinese. gmail should
not use that small size for Chinese (I'll file a bug internally against
gmail). And, Firefox has a similar issue
(Did you change the minimum font size in Firefox to 12px or larger? )
Does it help if you set the minimum font size to 12px by following the
instruction at
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome/thread?tid=389f306a52817110&hl=en
?
Chinese (simpl and traditional) chromes will have the minimum font size set
to 12. As long as you use
Chinese Chrome 3.0 (when it's released), it should look better.
