Comment #3 on issue 17222 by viettrungluu: Context menu for location bar has a lot of cruft http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=17222
Fair enough. Still: Safari doesn't have the Font submenu (ours is fully enabled but doesn't do anything); they also have the Writing Direction submenu disabled (ours is enabled but doesn't work properly; arguably, since we can do searches from the location bar, it should work properly -- call that a separate bug perhaps). Substitutions->Smart Copy/Paste on Safari works in the expected (if rather obscure) way; we half-ignore it (we always do our own version of smart pasting -- which differs from Cocoa-standard -- but we do do Cocoa smart cut). Maybe it's a bug that we ignore the setting on pasting, though as I said our kind of smart pasting differs from Cocoa's. (Ours is better for a browser, stripping leading and trailing whitespace.) I'm pretty convinced that Smart Links should be disabled, regardless of what Safari thinks. I suspect we have pretty thorough control over that menu, actually. -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
