The symbols aren't resolved until first use and we probably don't call that
in the
browser.
I'm afraid that we require a more recent FreeType version. (Why the .so API
numbers
match when the API has changed is another matter.)
It looks like there's something wrong with your installation because my
Intrepid box
reports version 9.18.3 (which is actually 2.3.7)
