Comment #2 on issue 13732 by Jayschwa: quicktime is used for wma and mp3
instead of wmp even when wmp is configured to handle mp3 and wma
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=13732

I had a similar issue with VLC and WMP. When I installed VLC, it claimed
all file
associations. Unfortunately, the VLC plugin that Chrome acquired appeared
to be
unstable. I opened the Defaults panel from the Start Menu and set WMP as
default for
all available file types. It worked everywhere on my system except Chrome;
the VLC
plugin was still used in Chrome. I eventually had to uninstall VLC to get
it to work.

I'm using Win 7 RC.
