I have been experiencing this issue since the latest development release. This happens on any site regardless of the element I am trying to "inspect". It will always open the inspector with "body" selected. I could not find any correlation between this bug and JS libraries being used on the page. I even tested on a empty page with only a few basic elements and no JS includes; the results were the same. Google Chrome: 4.0.202.0 (Official Build 23673) WebKit: 532.0 V8: 1.3.4 OS: WinXP Home Edition SP3 I hope this issue can be resolved in the next dev release. For now I have to use Firefox or some other browser to help debug page elements.
