New issue 20938 by [email protected]: SSL error page is tailored to Windows http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=20938 Chrome Version : 4.0.206.0 svn20090902r25168 OS + version : Ubuntu Karmic Koala (current) CPU architecture (32-bit / 64-bit): 32bit Intel PIII-m window manager : metacity URLs (if applicable) : any url generating an SSL warning/error Behavior in Firefox 3.x (if applicable): Behavior in Chrome for Windows (optional): What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. navigate to any HTTPS url which will generate a certificate warning/error 2. click the 'Help me understand' link on the resulting warning page 3. read the text, the bottom line reads: "Contact your organization's help staff for assistance in adding a new root certificate to Windows." This will not help a Linux user very much. Change that text to an OS- independent format, eg: "Contact your organization's help staff for assistance in adding a new root certificate to your system" (or 'browser', or ...) What is the expected result? What happens instead? Please provide any additional information below.
