New issue 20984 by palf...@gmail.com: Not prompted for Basic authentication
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=20984

Chrome Version : 4.0.205.0 (Ubuntu build 25032)
OS + version : Ubuntu 8.04
CPU architecture (32-bit / 64-bit): i386
URLs (if applicable) : (local one unfortunately)
Behavior in Firefox 3.x (if applicable): Works fine

What steps will reproduce the problem?
Attempt to login to local Matchport device
(http://www.lantronix.com/device-networking/embedded-device-
servers/matchport.html). Can't provide external URL.

What is the expected result?

Login prompt - doesn't need username/password, but does need basic auth.

What happens instead?

Page saying "401 Unauthorized"

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot
and backtrace if possible.

I've attached a Live HTTP Headers log from Firefox happily logging into
this device. Tried to figure out how to get Chromium logging HTTP stuff
like this, but don't know how.
