Just because you aren't seeing one bug fixed doesn't mean things aren't getting done. There are a million bugs to fix as well as porting to other operating systems and other enhancements/bug fixes. I too would like to see this one done. You're comments are interesting about 'surviving', you should perhaps have a look at the latest browser share reports.
