Comment #119 on issue 1397 by fabios4rulez: Master password is missing http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1397
Suggestion for the UI: what about asking for set a master password the first time you open stored password if a master password is missing? it should be a dialog in a pop- up like this: a master password is not yet set, do you want to set one? only two field are necessary: insert password, confirm password. and an option below: never show this dialog in the future (if the user does not intend to set a master password). not a particular UI complication. next time he wants to look at stored password he just has to insert the password he had set. if a user forgot his password he can clear from the clearing browser data all the password stored and the master password goes away. the point is that the most of the people that maybe should watch on our machine looking for stored passwords are not necessarly hacker that could break a master password, so is not true that this is worthless. and the fact that you have to login every time you open your browser for making your password safe (according to plan of merging it into 812) is defenely too annoying. -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
