Running as root was relevant. Here is the fix I used: $ chown -R jcohen: ~/.config/chromium $ chown -R jcohen: ~/.cache/chromium where jcohen is the user I was previously unable to launch the browser with -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
