New issue 25608 by dragit1153: Chrome hanging on Win 7 Ultimate 32-bit,
using a SSD
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=25608

Chrome Version : Version-independent issue (4.0.222.12; 3.0.195.27
and prior versions of 3.0)
URLs (if applicable) : n/a
Other browsers tested:
      Safari 4: OK
   Firefox 3.x: n/a
          IE 7: n/a
          IE 8: OK

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Navigating to any web page--I can not stress 'any' enough--regardless
of how long the browser has been open
2.
3.

What is the expected result?
Normal navigation to a webpage.

What happens instead?
The browser hangs at almost timed intervals. There are short spurts where
it performs at the 'normal' speed of operation it used to back when I was
using Vista. But, these short spurts of normal operation are broken up by
random hangs in operation where the browser seems to just stop
responding. If I press the enter key after typing in any URL, sometimes
the browser will simply hang: the rings on the tab that rotate to
indicate "upload" or "download" keep moving, but the browser displays
nothing, nor does it send or receive any packets during this time (if any
packets are sent or received, they are very few in number). However, this
is not limited to uploads or downloads. Sometimes I will be scrolling
down a page and the browser will hang; and sometimes when I am typing
something in, the browser will also hang.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

The major thing to note is that Chrome is VERY rarely deemed "Not
Responding" when the above-listed issues take place.

In Vista Ultimate 32-bit, Chrome worked fine. I am using Windows 7
Ultimate 32-bit, and it is producing these very strange problems. The
only difference besides the Operating System is that I am using a Solid
State Drive. I am unsure as to how much this has affected the browser's
operation, but it is the only hardware difference.

The last thing I should note is that I noticed that conime.exe was opening
a lot when I was using Vista, and its activity seemed to be closely
related to my use of Chrome. I noticed that Windows 7 does not have
conime.exe, and its replacement appears to be conhost.exe which is
obviously different. If that is correct, conhost.exe may be a part of the
problem.
