New issue 25633 by akufen: Drag url to tab behaviour differs from drag to
address + right click
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=25633
Chrome Version : 3.0.195.27
URLs (if applicable) :
Other browsers tested: Firefox 3.5.3, Safari 4, Internet Explorer 8.0.7100
Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
Safari 4: FAIL
Firefox 3.x: OK
IE 7:
IE 8: FAIL
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Select a non-hyperlinked domain name such as 'google.com'
2. Drag it to the tab bar
3. Err.. drop it?
What is the expected result?
The url should be opened.
What happens instead?
Nothing happens.
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.
If I copy and paste the same 'flat text domain name' into the address bar,
the right click
menu offers me to 'paste and go', so it recognizes that I'm pasting a
domain name and not
just some text. I would expect the drag and drop behaviour to be equally
intelligent as the
right click menu. They do share the same brain after all.
