The problem seems to be that it requires gcc 4.2 or greater and CentOS/RHEL  
have gcc
4.1

@Marek Shimara, have you successfully built, using those instructions, on  
CentOS or
RHEL?

It would be nice to have it available on these two, as they're certainly  
not rare
distributions.  Even if CentOS is more commonly used as a server, many of  
us run it
as server-cum-desktop.
