Updates: Cc: b...@chromium.org Comment #8 on issue 22820 by miran...@chromium.org: NNTP: Text alignment issues. http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=22820
After playing around a bit with the UI, I see a few possibilities: 1) Change the string to "Thumbnail removed. Undo." This will be short enough to fit in the place of the butterbar we have now, in both small and large thumbnail configurations. 2) Move the butterbar to the bottom of the screen. This gives it some room to expand. I also played with changing font size and wrapping text, but both of these are inelegant and wrong. I like (1), because the title information is, IMHO, kind of overkill. We just removed the thumbnail, we probably know what the title was -- and if we've forgotten in the few seconds it took us to hit delete, we can choose undo and immediately see it again. I don't like (2), because it would make the notification not visible if the user didn't have a large enough screen. I also don't like putting the butterbar anywhere else in the screen, because it becomes cluttered and inelegant.
