FWIW, Google Chrome won't support anything older than Fedora 10. Everything  
before
Fedora 10 no longer gets security updates, you really shouldn't be running  
such an
old distro. You can run Google Chrome on F8/9 if you upgrade enough  
packages to the
F10 version, but at that point, why not just upgrade the entire system?

Although RHEL 5.4 came out recently, it's basically RHEL 5 + fixes. RHEL  
5.0came out
in 2007 and is simply too old. Google Chrome will likely support RHEL 6  
though.

On the Chromium side, anyone can build and make their own Chromium  
packages. As many
have done. [1] You're more than welcome to build Chromium for older RH  
distros.
