Comment #19 on issue 23523 by leonardoandersen: Insanely high CPU consumption by Chrome http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=23523
using Chrome 4.249.4, the 100% still there. I found something that can help on chrome forum: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome/thread?tid=486b612f2131f8e7&hl=en I figured out what is causing the 100% usage issue. Since I am behind a corporate firewall, chat is disabled by our network administrator. My Gmail is configured such that I get logged into chat by default. As I watch my Chrome, Gmail loads fine, CPU usage almost 0%. Then the chat tries to log me in, but then comes back with "Your internet connection is experiencing problems or your network administrator has blocked Gmail chat. Learn more". At that point the CPU usage shoots up 100%. Then if I minimize the chat application, the usage drops back to 0%. Hope this helps/ Thanks. hardikar -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
