New issue 30832 by gabriele.fariello: There is NO way to cancel a download
if you have more than a few.
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=30832

Chrome Version : 4.0.249.43
URLs (if applicable) : Any
Other browsers tested:
Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
      Safari 4:
   Firefox 3.x: OK
          IE 7: N/A
          IE 8: OK

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Enter Incognito Mode
2. Download 6 or more large files (e.g., try downloading a few of Walter
Lewin's excellent lectures on Physics from MIT)
3. Now try to cancel.

What is the expected result?
If I'm downloading 12 lectures for off-line viewing and realize I
downloaded the wrong one(s), I SHOULD be able to cancel only those that I
don't want, rather than have to quit Chrome and re-start.

What happens instead?
I either download 500MB more than I need, or kill Chrome and restart.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

Basically, after a few downloads, previous downloads are pushed off the
status bar. If a download is not currently displayed in the status bar,
there is no way to cancel it.

This is yet another consequence of the seemingly unconscionable decision to
not display current downloads which are happening in Incognito mode. I’m
not sure under which circumstances (see
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=16072) it would seem
reasonable to anyone that users do not and should not know what they or
their computer is doing.

Please consider this:

(1) The download history is ALREADY available somewhere to Chrome while in
Incognito mode; if Chrome did not keep track of it, Chrome could not
continue the downloads let alone display the few downloads it does in the
status bar.

(2) The navigation history is ALSO available; otherwise one could not go
back in history, which would make Incognito mode unusable.

(3) Cookie tracking is ALSO available; otherwise one could not use any site
which rely on them.

(4) Displaying active downloads has (and is) a feature of all download
software I am aware of, incognito mode or not.
