Comment #22 on issue 16694 by noah.rawlins: Chrome freezes requiring hard reboot http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=16694
I recently (less than a week ago) put Windows 7 on this system from linux and I am having the same issue. I had not gone more than 2 hours of usage without the system freezing. It seemed fairly random to me at first, and I had not linked it directly to any particular program, I just thought it was driver/hardware conflicts with windows 7, and I would have to go back to linux. But the last time it happened just a few moments after startup and I just couldn't imagine it was overheating or something of that nature when all I had done was open up chrome and tried to navigate (don't remember exactly where). So I jokingly thought "microsoft must have made it so windows crashes when you dont' use IE," and I switched my default browser back to IE. Since then, no crashes. I do not have any antivirus software running, only what comes with a fresh install (Windows defender and firewall). I'm going to continue using IE for another day or so to try to rule out just an extended lucky streak as much as I can. Then I will use chrome again for a while and see if it crashes. I checked my event logs and the only thing that shows up is an error message when i start it back up warning that it had not been shut down properly. If there's anything else I can do to help diagnose the problem, please let me know. -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
