Status: Unconfirmed Owner: ---- Labels: Type-Bug Pri-2 Area-Undefined New issue 31029 by ABoerma: Self-closing tag <script /> incorrectly expanded. http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=31029
Chrome Version : 4.0.249.43 (Official Build 34537) WebKit Version : 532.5 URLs (if applicable) : Attached file Other browsers tested: Safari 4: OK (Version tested: 4.0.4 (531.21.10)) Firefox 3.x: OK IE 7: Not tested IE 8: OK What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Load the attached file in Chrome. 2. View source or load developer tools. What is the expected result? The self-closing tag "<script />" should be recognized as closed or expanded to "<script></script>". What happens instead? "<script />" is replaced by "<script /></script>", which produced a warning and an error. Warning: XML self-closing tag syntax used on <script>. The tag will be closed by WebKit, but not all browsers do this. Change to <script></script> instead for best cross-browser compatibility. Error: Unmatched </script> encountered. Ignoring tag. Please note this also happens if the script tag has any attributes.
