Status: Unconfirmed Owner: ---- Labels: Type-Bug Pri-2 Area-Undefined New issue 31034 by jimmyhappyi: When cache is cleared, browser either "freezes" or crashes http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=31034
Chrome Version : 4.0.249.43 (Official Build 34537) URLs (if applicable) : n/a Other browsers tested: Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue: Safari 4: n/a Firefox 3.x: n/a IE 7: n/a IE 8: n/a (All don't crash) What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Surf to any web page. Open some tabs, surf around. 2. Clear cache. 3. Experience freeze/crash. What is the expected result? Nothing, cache cleared, everything should be working normally What happens instead? Browser pages don't respond (tab switching still works), or the browser won't close. The browser can also crash too. Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible. The OS is Ubuntu 9.04 (Linux). It seems like Chrome doesn't place the web page in memory, causing severe problems afterwards. This might be related to bug 6626 (see http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail? id=6626&q=cache&colspec=ID%20Stars%20Pri%20Area%20Type%20Status%20Summary%2 0Modified%20Owner%20Mstone%20OS). -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
