Actually, I encountered this again. Not sure if I can repro this, but here's what I did
leading up to it: 1. Started with sync off, launched chrome from Xcode (no debugging) 2. Logged into sync 3. Hit Xcode's "restart" button, which I believe is not a clean shutdown 4.
