I'm skeptical the throbber consumes much CPU, unless Chrome's animation
code is
atrocious. That said, I do think a mini-progress-bar like in Firefox's
mockups would
be neat. Or a little circular gauge like the current download progress
icons.
(Though I still think *those* should be replaced with more traditional
progress bars
to save vertical space.)
