This may be naive, but I expect what we have right now ought to be pretty close to working on Solaris anyway. It might be quicker to just fix the few places it doesn't work. (I wouldn't normally expect this of a Linux port of software in general, but we're also sharing all this code with OS X so it should be POSIX safe...)
A friend of mine uses a VM with Solaris explicitly so he can use dtrace to analyze his Linux-based system software.
